People choose to have relationship counselling by themselves for many reasons; you may be single and wanting to explore your relationship past, or cultivate a great foundation for your relationship future. You may be in a relationship but wish to work through an issue without your partner present, or it may be you have a partner who’s chosen not to join you for counselling.
Whatever your situation, our sessions offer you the chance to freely explore your thoughts, experiences and aspirations. My approach to relationship therapy draws upon psychodynamic and systemic principles, along with teaching you how to check in with your body / nervous system which is an incredibly rich source of information. I work in a collaborative, dynamic way, asking a lot of questions to really get you thinking about yourself and your relationships in fresh, new ways.
Moments of self-reflection are also an important part of the therapy process and I love helping my clients tune into what feels true for them. As we talk together you'll learn more about what you want from your relationships - what's working and what's not - and gain insights into how you can create deeply fulfilling, lasting connections.
Our work together will help you connect to your highest, most-brilliant self, so you can make authentic, skilful, deeply intuitive decisions about your life and relationships.
Sessions are held either face to face in my studio in Hassocks or online via Zoom, weekdays during school hours.
Our first step would be to arrange an Initial Consultation:
INITIAL CONSULTATION
60 MINUTES - £90
A good client / counsellor 'fit' is vital. This first session gives me an opportunity to hear about your situation to make sure I’m the right person to help, and gives you a chance to get a feel for me and how I work. We can then decide whether we'd like to work together.
Once we’ve chosen to go ahead we would book you in for weekly and / or Individual Intensive sessions:
INDIVIDUAL INTENSIVES
3 hrs - £300
3 SESSIONS IN A HALF-DAY 1:1 INTENSIVE
(TUESDAY MORNINGS)
Following on from the success of my Couple Intensives I am now thrilled to offer individual clients (those wanting to work 1:1 with me) an Intensive option to help fast track the early sessions where there’s often a lot of history and content to be shared. While it’s really important for me to hear everything you would like me to know, it can feel like slow progress for some clients who are eager to begin actioning change.
Here is an example of how the block is structured (following on from an Initial Consultation):
9.15am - 10.45am 90 minute 1:1 session
Break 15 minute break (or as needed)
11.00am - 12.30pm 90 minute 1:1 session
KEY BENEFITS OF THE INTENSIVE:
Efficiency - three week’s worth of sessions / information download happens in just one half day, fast-tracking the work
Focus - I spend 3hrs deeply focusing on you and your situation which helps me get a clear picture and formulate a plan for ongoing work
Flow - with extended session time we can really find a flow with what we’re covering, these sessions feel like you’re taking action fast
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE INDIViduAL INTENSIVE:
Following on from the Intensive we would either move to weekly sessions or there is also the option to book further Intensive Session blocks if desired / appropriate.
